Concerned about the coronavirus?

Readiness To Learn and other local organizations have basic need resources during the COVID-19 outbreak.

A note from the center – closures

Image from the Centers for Dis Control showing two theoretical curves of future cases of COVID-19. The first curve is sharp and easily passes a line of maximum hospital resources. It represents what would happen if there is business as usual. The second curve is what should happen with social distancing, and shows the cases spread out over a longer time, but within the capabilities of health care resources.

The above chart shows how measures such as social distancing
and business closures can help healthcare professions manage care during this pandemic.

March 16, 2020

Dear Community-At-Large:

We care deeply about our community and are committed to promoting the health and safety of all.

We have decided to proactively close the South Whidbey Community Center campus starting this Monday, March 16 until further notice. This includes all community gym and room spaces as well as all campus partner spaces.

This decision was made with careful consideration for the health and wellness of all our valued community members, particularly the more vulnerable, as well as our communal responsibility to do whatever we can to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The following Campus Partners will be closed during this period:

  • Create Space
  • Rubatano Marimba
  • Readiness To Learn/Family Resource Center
  • Sound Circle Center
  • South Whidbey Children’s Center (After School Program)
  • The Backyard
  • The Learning Lab at Langley
  • Tiger Martial Arts
  • Whidbey Veteran’s Resource Center
  • Whidbey Watershed Stewards
  • Woodhaven Waldorf Initiative
  • Whidbey Children’s Theatre
  • Island Dance
  • South Island CrossFit
